Animal science department Messages
Agricultural education is dynamic and addresses issues relevant to the social, economical, and technological development of the country. The quality and quantum of agricultural inputs, their management techniques, and also the quality of farm products and methods of value additions would keep on changing with the advancement of industrialization in the general and economic uplifting of farmers/processors in particular. It is in this context that the agricultural education is to be analyzed and the course curriculum modified to serve the agriculture and the aggro pastoral-based(livestock production) industries. Livestock production is one part of agriculture and Ethiopia is the first country by livestock number in Africa and 8th in the world, but in terms of productivity, the country is the least of all. In order to increase the productivity of those huge numbers of livestock, the country should increase skiiled manpower by animal science.
